Geotex Engineering is a DBE, WBE, and HUB certified firm looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to lead our geotechnical group as Director of Geotechnical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence and client satisfaction, and enjoy making a positive impact through a collaborative team effort. The successful candidate will also possess proven group management skills (minimum 5 years). This position will reside in our Dallas-Fort Worth location.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage a team of Geotechnical PE's and EIT's on a scope of different projects.
  • Identify Business Development opportunities
  • Review engineering reports that provide practical geotechnical solutions
  • Develop and manage projects (scope, schedule, budget)
  • Review engineering calculations, such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seepage
  • Other duties as required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Geotechnical group management
  • Ability to organize logically and manage time effectively
  • Lead, coach, and mentor professional staff
  • Ability to engage in relevant dialogue with clients
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in TxDOT geotechnical projects
  • Experience in North and/or Central Texas
  • Eager to seek new challenges
