D&S Engineering Labs, LLC a North Texas‐based Woman Owned Engineering Consulting firm, is proud to announce their recent Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification awarded by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This is just one of the disadvantaged business certifications the firm holds. Taken together, the certifications held at the local, state, and federal level, along with proven knowledge and expertise, means D&S can serve public sector clients on a full range of project types. D&S holds the following business certifications:
- Texas Comptroller – Historically Underutilized Business (HUB)
- Woman’s Business Enterprise National Council – Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE)
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) – Small Business Enterprise (SBE)
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) – Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
Clients of all types have long come to D&S to ensure project success. D&S can scale project teams to meet any geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing need, regardless of scope. With a collaborative approach, D&S provides dedicated principal involvement during every project phase. With the range of certifications D&S now holds, the firm can provide the same standard of service to even more public sector clients.
According to TxDOT, this is a unique certification with a commitment to utilize certified DBEs in its transportation program and establishes a minimum percentage DBE utilization on all contracts. Additionally, the Department encourages all prime contractors and consultants to use TxDOT DBEs.
“After passing the review and rigorous requirements in the DBE certification process, we are thrilled to have achieved this certification” said Amy Brothers, P.E., President. “Being recognized as a disadvantaged business entity will allow D&S to help clients meet DBE goals for a variety of federally‐funded projects, improving communities across DFW and North Texas. It’s a tremendous opportunity.”
